Empowering the Next Generation of Marine Stewards through Conservation-Minded Education Stations
Hook Kids on Fishing (HKOF) is for kids between ages 5-15 and taught by professional guides, knowledgeable anglers and scientists. This hands-on, conservation-minded and educational fishing program teaches children casting, knot tying, fishing safety, catch and release, fish habitats, conservation and more!
What to expect:
- Interactive fishing lessons for the entire family.
- Hands-on demonstrations of sustainable fishing practices like how to handle fish and catch and release practices.
- Engaging talks on marine conservation and living shorelines

Registration fee is $7.18 per family, so reserve your spot at this not-to-be-missed event! All children must be accompanied by an adult, spaces are limited, so act swiftly to secure your place in the angling adventure of a lifetime.
NOTE: This tax-deductible fee helps support Anglers for Conservation, advancing conservation and sustainability efforts to protect our oceans and estuarine ecosystems, ensuring healthy fish populations for future generations to enjoy. What We Provide:
- Fishing Gear: Fishing poles, bait, and tackle will be provided to all participants.
- Expert Guidance: Our experienced instructors will teach the basics of fishing, including how to use the equipment safely and effectively.
- Educational Material: Learn about the local ecosystem and the importance of conservation.
What do I bring?
Apply sunscreen beforehand and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Comfortable shoes suitable for grass and dirt paths, and may get wet.
What if the weather is bad?
The event will take place rain or shine, please dress appropriately. Any changes due to severe weather will be communicated by email.
