The Anglers for Conservation is a non-profit organization with regional chapters representing sport fishing anglers everywhere who share our interest and concerns for marine and estuarine habitats, water quality and the many factors affecting recreational sport fishing.

The AFC’s mission is to create a new generation of marine stewards using community-based angling education, habitat restoration and applied conservation science. Through funding from individual donors and grants from foundations and the government, the AFC offers its programs to various groups in the general public and community. The AFC believes in partnering with other allied agencies and organizations in order to:

  • Cultivate and educate America’s youth, fellow anglers and concerned citizens on fisheries, habitat and water quality issues and the choices they make affecting these resources
  • Champion habitat development and restoration projects in local communities
  • Work to better augment anglers’ sport fishing skills and the choices they make
  • Work with other organizations to provide activities for children and adults that are both entertaining and educational
  • Support and develop high-impact, long-term environmental programs that support recreational sport fishing
  • Implement fisheries data collection education to better support analysis databases and tools
  • Utilize funding from private and governmental sources to accomplish these objectives
