Come Together at Sykes Creek Adventures |

Volunteers and families came together on February 18 for the Hook Kids on Fishing Program at Merritt Island's Sykes Creek Adventure Family Eco-Festival. The weather was perfect at Kiwanis Park, where 15 volunteers taught over 35 kids and their parents how to enjoy a safe, fun and entertaining day fishing on the Indian River Lagoon. Together these families learn knot tying, catch and release tactics, tackle rigging, safety, boating fundamentals and how to treat their environment with conservation in mind.
Sponsors include the Fish Florida Foundation, Brevard County Recreation and Parks, Lady Anglers of Brevard and Coastal Angler Magazine-Brevard. We would like to thank Stuart Patterson for all his wonderful photos at this events. Feel free to view and purchase any of his snapshots. See photos here!
